I’ve witnessed sadness

January 6, 2022

Sadly, this has been a common theme amongst many of my clients lately. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I’ve witnessed sadness, anger, frustration, insecurity... ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I’ve watched friendships be torn apart and marriages end...⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Why?⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Because so many people are too prideful to apologize. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
You read that right... TOO PRIDEFUL!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I’m going to just lay it all out there today...⁣⁣
⁣⁣
EVERYONE is entitled to their own feelings and emotions. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Telling someone that they “shouldn’t be” upset, annoyed, hurt, etc... is not only inappropriate it is extremely disrespectful. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
If YOUR actions or words have caused a negative impact on someone else, WHETHER INTENDED OR NOT, and that person expresses that to you, an apology is necessary. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
“I am sorry that what I I did/said upset you (ACCOUNTABILITY for how your words/actions affect others), my intention was never to hurt you.” ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Saying this, ACKNOWLEDGES the other persons feelings and allows them to feel HEARD. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
99% of the time, that is all we need. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Humbleness will always be more satisfying in the end.⁣⁣
