Disconnection is like poison
As much as our pride tends to breed hesitation when talking to others about our struggles, we are ALL struggling with the lack of humanness in the current societal situation.
Social distancing has created a much larger issue than it was intended to prevent.
Like food and water, touch and love are basic needs for survival. When left without them, we can experience feelings of emotional death.... grief, depression, anxiety, loneliness, and more.
Our mental and emotional health have been abandoned through the process of protecting our physical health which bares no importance if we can’t emotionally muster up the strength to go on another day.
When all you see is darkness, please remember you are not alone.
Your feelings matter.
Your life matters.
YOU matter.
Today...
Make that phone call you’ve been meaning to make. There is a reason that person has been on your mind.
Hug someone a little longer
Tell a friend or loved one how much you appreciate them
Smile genuinely at a stranger
Slow down and pay attention to others...really pay attention
Look people in their eyes, help them to feel alive through you
Spread love and kindness. We need it now more than ever 💜
