If I knew then what I know now...⁣

January 4, 2022

Someone called me out of the blue today that I haven’t spoken to in more than 5 years. She said, “I see you’re doing well and I am so happy for you. I have a question though, if you knew then what you know now, what would have been different.” This question actually didn’t surprise me. It seems to be a favorite...So, if you were wondering too... ⁣

If I knew then what I know now...⁣

I would’ve listened more intently to my heart and less to my mind ⁣

I would’ve accepted compliments with grace and worthiness ⁣

I would’ve taken more time to feel the people I am close to. Hold their hand. Hug them tightly, for a little longer. Soak up their smell. Really, truly, FEEL their love. ⁣

I would’ve understood that beauty is soul deep and when you stay true to your soul, you radiate an intangible amount of loving energy which ultimately will draw in the people that will appreciate that beauty beyond measure.⁣

I would’ve played more. Because, joy and laughter really are the best medicine. ⁣

I would’ve shown love and not disdain to the people who hurt me. They are the ones that need it the most. ⁣

And I would’ve made myself remember to breathe. Deeply. Bringing clarity to my thoughts and emotions before I acted upon them.⁣

“If I knew then what I know now, I would never have wasted even a single moment doubting my path. It may be human nature to question and doubt, but the older I get, the less I worry about anything. I can see life unfolding in divine order. And even in times of the greatest turmoil, I can stop, get still, and see with utter clarity: This, too, shall pass.” -Oprah⁣

What would you have done differently?⁣
